ADHD Reader requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
ADHD Reader uses macOS's App Sandbox for security, which means it needs explicit permission to access each file. If a file appears greyed out or shows an error in your Recents list, simply go to the Open File tab and re-open it using the Choose File button. It will be remembered from that point on.
Make sure ADHD Reader is installed in your Applications folder and has been opened at least once. Then go to System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions and verify ADHD Reader is listed. If it still doesn't appear, try removing and re-adding it from Safari's Share menu customization.
Some websites use JavaScript to load their content, which can prevent standard importing from working. ADHD Reader includes a fallback that waits for JavaScript to render before extracting text. If a page still fails, try copying the article text manually and using the Paste Text tab instead.
